One of the most preferable offshore region for the incorporation of new offshore companies may be the British Virgin Islands (BVI). BVI is one of the most recognized offshore areas in the world where investors may incorporate partnerships, trusts and/or foundations. The BVI is an internationally recognized offshore center and also one of the oldest and many other offshore jurisdictions based themselves on the BVI’s laws prior to developing their own corporate laws. The BVI offers a high level of anonymity and privacy and it is a stable jurisdiction with a very good reputation. The BVI Financial Service Commission is the governing authority and companies are regulated under the Business Companies Act 2004. Companies incorporated in the BVI are not subject to any taxes of any sort. The currency of the BVI is the American Dollar (US$). The Directors of companies incorporated in the BVI are free to open bank accounts at any reputable bank in the world. There are no requirements for opening a BVI Bank account.
