Dina Serry

Mrs. Dina Serry is a Partner of “Serry Law Office”. She graduated from the American University of Cairo in 1993 with highest honors with double major of business and economics and graduated from the Faculty of Law, Cairo University in 1998. Mrs. Serry has gained practical legal experience in the banking sector as she worked in the loan department of the American Express Bank for two year and then joined the office in 1999 for two years working mainly on banking and finance agreements before she joined the Arab Legal Consultants as an off counsel where she was specialized in Non Competition Law matters.

She has been working on drafting of major corporate and banking Agreements, Due Diligence Reports, handling international business transactions, drafting of Legal Opinions, in addition to handling Civil and Commercial litigation cases.

Mrs. Serry Participated in projects related to the following areas:

  • Assisting in the “training for trainers” workshop on Competition Law provided by the UNCTAD to the Iraqi government in Geneva in June 2009.
  • Consultancy for Ezz Steel, a leading company in steel production in Egypt, in the expansion and improvement of the Competition Law compliance program. This included assessing Competition Law compliance risk, staff training, and amendment and revision of previous compliance manual and training materials.
  • Drafting of rules governing Competition Law and its Executive Regulations for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Application of Competition Law and compliance with the Egyptian Law in different Egyptian companies.
  • Design of comprehensive competition compliance programs for major Egyptian companies.
  • Delivery of comprehensive Competition Law compliance training programs to major Egyptian companies.
  • Introduction of Corporate Governance Rules to the system in Egypt.
  • Application of Payment Systems to the Egyptian economy.
  • Introduction of the first Credit Bureau in Egypt.
  • Working on all aspects of corporate matters.
  • Drafting legal opinions related to the application of Egyptian Laws and Regulations for Egyptian and multi-national companies.
  • Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts in English and Arabic languages for Egyptian and multi-national companies specialized in various fields, such as but not limited to, media, Petroleum, medical, construction and food on various corporate matters.
  • Conducting legal due diligence in connection with acquisitions and restructuring for the benefit of local and foreign clients; and
  • Participated as an off counsel in projects related to the following areas:

  • Participation in drafting the newly proposed Microfinance Law, via studying comparative microfinance laws and experiences, and discussing outcomes with the different counterparts.
